Creating a New Story

A Story is where it all starts. If an Author wants to put up something for others to read they must first create a new Story. This is a two stage process.

To create a new Story, click on the LHS menu bar New Story link, which will display the above page. The values with bright red names are mandatory, an entry or selection must be made. Type in the tile, and optionally a description of the Story (a good idea). Then choose a Genre by clicking on the Select Genre hyperlink.

A Genre categories a Story, such as Fantasy, Science Fiction or Drama. Genres (Categories) that are displayed as hyperlinks have sub-Genres, such as Dark Fantasy, True Crime, etc. To drill down and find a more appropriate sub-category, click on the hyperlinks.

Once you have located the Genre you want to associate the Story with, select its radio button and then click on Choose. The dialog will close.

Now Click on Create.

If all the mandatory fields were entered and the save worked, then the Story has been added. Now Chapters can be added to the Story to give it actual content.
